About Us
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s mission is to foster scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity among college women, improve the social stature of girls and women, and be of “Service to All Mankind.”

For over 116 years, thirty women have led Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® as national and international presidents.
History
Founded January 15, 1908, at Howard University by Ethel Hedgemon Lyle and 8 others, Alpha Kappa Alpha's ideals for Negro progress are embodied by "By merit and by culture" with colors salmon pink and apple green.
